Bogdan Dicoias leads Panacea Bio Chem’s scientific and technological development, connecting biochemistry with the engineering required to synthesise, preserve, formulate, characterise and deliver sensitive biological materials.

The Sulodexide programme is part of a wider objective: treating biological damage as an engineering and molecular-repair problem. It sits inside the same laboratory and engineering environment as Panacea’s formulation, preservation and delivery platforms — not beside them.

Research interests

The endothelium is not simply the wall of a pipe. It is a dynamic molecular organ, and the glycocalyx is its first interface with the blood. Once that interface is damaged, coagulation, permeability, inflammation and cellular adhesion can all change together. Sulodexide gives us a serious biochemical architecture through which to investigate that system. Panacea’s objective is to understand it, characterise it and determine how it can be developed beyond the limitations of its existing presentation.
